Paul Brown is an Advisory Partner at Granite Growth. He holds the James Lee Sorenson Presidential Chair and is a professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. He is also the co-director of the School’s Master in Business Creation program and an entrepreneur in residence at the University of Utah’s Center for Medical Innovation.
Prior to teaching, Paul was a managing director at Sandbox Industries in Chicago where he co-led the firm’s $300M healthcare venture capital fund, which he co-founded. Prior to Sandbox, Paul was a vice president at the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association for ten years, where he served on the CEO’s strategy council. Previous to that, he was a partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
Paul serves on the boards of CleanSlate Outpatient Addiction Medicine, JQ Medical Supply, SwellCX, Cinch Solutions, and Amplify. He was previously on the board of QualDerm Partners.
Paul earned a JD from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and dual BAs from the University of Utah.
