Diane Daych is a managing partner and co-founder at Granite Growth. She has more than 30 years of investing, advisory and operating experience, with more than 25 years of experience in the health services industry. Before founding Granite Growth, Diane led Apple Tree Partners’ healthcare services investing team. From 2010 to 2012, she was a managing director and co-head, Private Equity, of the Marwood Group. Previously, she was a partner and principal at CCP Equity Partners, where she invested in growth companies that offer specialized solutions for the financing, management and delivery of healthcare. Diane’s current investments include CleanSlate Addiction Treatment Centers, Narus Health, QualDerm Partners, TripleCare and Prism Education. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of TripleCare, CleanSlate, QualDerm, Prism, the Tuck School’s MBA Advisory Board and The Healthcare Private Equity Association. She previously sat on the Board of Directors of the Women’s Association of Venture and Equity, and she is the past president of the Hartford Chapter of the Connecticut Venture Group. Diane earned an MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College and a BA in Economics from Lehigh University.

Mark Brooks is a managing partner and co-founder at Granite Growth. He previously co-founded MMC Health Services and Scale Venture Partners, a diversified venture firm with over $1.5 billion AUM, where he co-led the healthcare group for more than 15 years. He has more than 25 years of experience investing in, operating and managing high-growth health services companies, several of which have become market leaders. Mark currently sits on the Board of Directors of Alternative Behavior Strategies, CutisCare, Alimera Sciences and CleanSlate Addiction Treatment Centers. He is a board observer for QualDerm Partners. He has helped a number of companies successfully exit health services investments, including IPC The Hospitalist Company, Healogics, U.S. HealthWorks and New Century Hospice. Prior to joining Scale Venture Partners, Mark spent a number of years with Mercer Management Consulting, where he managed and executed projects for companies in the health services and telecommunications industries, and with Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company. Mark earned an MBA in Finance and Management from Wharton and a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College.

Paul Brown is an Advisory Partner at Granite Growth.  He holds the James Lee Sorenson Presidential Chair and is a professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. He is also a senior director at the Sorenson Impact Center and an entrepreneur in residence at the University of Utah’s Center for Medical Innovation.

Prior to teaching, Paul was a managing director at Sandbox Industries in Chicago where he co-founded and co-led the firm’s $300M healthcare venture capital fund.  He also was the founder, president and CEO of Sandbox Innovation Partners, an innovation consulting practice. Prior to Sandbox, Paul was a vice president at the national Blue Cross and Blue Shield organization for ten years, where he served on the CEO’s strategy council. Previous to that, he was a partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Paul serves on the boards of CleanSlate Addiction Treatment Centers, QualDerm Partners, Central Logic, Rendezvous, and amplify.io. He also advises Swell CX, Vytalize Health, Boulder Health, and Advantia. Previously, Paul was on the boards of Capson, Phreesia, TripleCare (acquired by Curavi Health), PatientCo, Nexidia (acquired by NICE Systems), Bloom Health (acquired by three Blue Cross Blue Shield plans), and a board observer for Initiate Systems (acquired by IBM).  He has been a mentor or judge for Village Capital, Healthbox, Bench2Bedside, Opportunity Quest, and Games4Health.

Paul earned a JD from the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law and dual BAs from The University of Utah in Philosophy and Political Science.

Mike Kaplan is an Advisory Partner at Granite Growth.  He is also the Managing Director of Altos Health, a venture capital firm he founded in 2009.  Mike’s current boards include Alternative Behavior Strategies (autism treatment), Latitude Food Allergy Care(food allergy clinics), Sterling Administration (HSA administration), and Streamline Health (STRM), a publicly traded HCIT company.

Mike was previously a Partner at Three Arch Partners, a $1.1 billion fund focused on life sciences and healthcare services.  His notable investments included Free & Clear, Ascend Health, Habit Holdings, Novacept, Vascular Control Systems, and eValve.  Before joining Three Arch, Mike was an operating executive at Blue Shield of California, serving as Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategic Planning, Regional Chief Executive for Northern California, and Vice President of Business Transformation.  Earlier in his career, Mike was a Senior Manager in consulting for APM/CSC Healthcare and a Financial Analyst at Kidder, Peabody & Co.

Mike earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BS in Business Administration from Washington University in St. Louiswhere he serves on the National Council.
